The frequency range of FM radio basically stops at 15hz. ![]() Wow, flutter, dust, AC and motor and platter bleed-through, channel separation, frequency range. I mean, records can't even provide very low bass that is hard panned Left or Right, because the needle would skip etc. So no question in my mind at all that digital is far better in every way but just wish more artists and recording professionals would make better use of the fidelity range it offers. I think redbook 16 bit audio on its own has been well proven and designed to go far beyond what FM radio, records and tape can deliver but it requires the playback equipment to not only maintain high SNR and dynamic range but the real thorn in the side of digital, in my opinion, is so much modern music and "remastered" classics, are deliberately dynamically compressed and when you then actually compare to an original vinyl pressing of the same music on a good turntable is obvious. ![]() Click to 's a never-ending debate with people that believe FM radio and records and reel to reel tape sound best. ![]()
